The Development Process
Misingink
uses an engineered process management methodology to develop Internet
solutions. This process is a step by step process to determine
our clients needs and insure that the project's objectives are
met.
Planning
Initial
planning is the key to a successful implementation. The purpose
of this planning is to gain a better understanding of your business
and your industry. From that point, we define measurable goals
that we want to achieve. An initial plan is developed that often
includes not only Internet activities, but parallel your non-Internet
business activities as well.
Reasearch
Once
we have a better understanding of your objective, we set about
the task of discovery. Missingink will research what others in your
industry are doing, what others in similar industries are doing,
and how we can use technology to create a superior web presence
for your business.
Data
Collection
All
of your site's content is unique to your business and will need
to be defined prior to actual development. Existing content such
as company overviews, product catalogs, and pictures can be collected
for use on your web site. At this time, new content that does
not currently exist can be defined and the process of creating
this information is initiated.
Initial
Development
With
a general concept of the sites purpose and the building blocks
needed for the site, an initial site is developed. This initial
site is evaluated to insure that it is functional and meets with
your stated objectives.
Imaging
Concurrent
to the other processes, an Internet image is being created for
your company. This image is composed of graphical elements and
navigational tools to create a user friendly environment that
projects the image that your company wants to portray.
Deployment
After
the site has the functionality and image that you desire, the
process of moving the operation to Internet is instantaneous.
Defining the actual installation as a distinct step provides a
point at which to direct marketing and promotional efforts
Marketing
The
process of marketing and promotion is a continual process. Depending
on the purpose of the site, marketing can be as simple as getting
the site description in the search engine databases. However,
this is rarely the case. Customer announcements and cross-linking
agreements with other web sites
will need to be made along with the other initiatives defined
in your marketing plan.
Management
After
the site is operational and you begin to see the results of increased
traffic, the site will require periodic updates. New information
about your company and products will need to be included. The
sites contents may need to be adjusted for performance, or in
response to customer feedback. Marketing and promotional activities
will be ongoing. As your partner in this venture, Missingink is
dedicated to managing the site for your success.
Evaluation
Web
sites are not static creations. In order to keep them useful to
your customers, they must provide new benefits in order to maintain
your Internet community. The process of evaluation is one of looking
at the latest technology to determine if it offers some benefit
to your Internet activities. Simply asking your customers is an
excellent means of determining what can be done to improve your
company and products in it's new digital environment.
Evolution
The
development process never stops. Successful web enterprises are
those that are able to respond to the ever changing digital revolution.
After your site is operational, you will invariably find undiscovered
benefits. Redefining your objectives and redesigning your web
site is an ongoing responsibility that Missingink would like to
share with you.
